It amazes me the number of people who have no idea where their domains are registered, where their sites are hosted or even worse, what their user names and passwords are.
Your domain names and hosting accounts are like gold. They are the keys to your online business. Treat them as such.

Hear, hear! And also make sure your contact details stay up to date with your host, including the details on each of the domains you own (check them at a whois service such as http://www.kessels.com/whois/). When contacting customers about important matters, it amazes me how many e-mails bounce back, how many phone numbers are disconnected, and how many contact people no longer work at the organisation.
